Description
I was communicating with another AcidPlanet artist "Ambient Chemist" when a comment of his struck an idea with me. This tune is the end result of that idea. There is a story that I wrote that goes with it. This tune starts out kind of solemn and builds. Give it a listen and see what you think. _) The Story begins here - Robert finished his engineering degree in electronics and set out to make his fortune and family soon after. Little did he realize that his desires would cause so much pain. Deep in Roberts and or Geneva (his new wife), was a dormant gene that caused their son Devon to be born with a serious and debilitating birth defect. There was little the doctor?s could offer in corrective surgery and Devon was bound to be little more than a health brain trapped in a humanesque form. Robert?s grief drove him to the brink of exhaustion working overtime and trying to find help for his son?s condition. Devon was now almost two and the frazzled nerves of both Robert and Geneva had come to a head. In desperation Geneva had convinced herself that Devon was better off dead than alive and methodically began to poison him. Robert?s over reaction to Devon?s unresponsiveness saved Devon from certain death as the poison was evident in his blood and they were able to bring Devon back from the brink of death. Geneva had given up and abandoned Robert and Devon in shame. Later, Geneva would pay for her crime by committing herself to an asylum stricken with severe depression. Robert set out to find work in research working for hardware and software corporations to help him define and produce a solution to his son?s destiny. In the disguise as portable body armor Robert began his research work in electro mechanics and designing a prosthetic body for his son. Robert strived for something beyond simple robotics and enlisted the help of neurologists and researchers in the development of synthetic human flesh. The development paid off as Devon was able to learn to manipulate and control the various limbs until the final vessel for his body took form. Now able to move and maneuver, articulate and manipulate his environment - success was at hand - for Robert. But, for Devon his new body was a prison. A cyber isolation that Robert didn?t count on. Devon?s slow acceptance and almost rejection of his prosthetics was a disappointment, but when Robert?s successful creation became an industrial secret - there was a force to reckon with in Devon?s determination to save his father and himself from becoming silent characters in the history of technology. There was strength in Devon and his new body that even out surpassed Roberts wildest dreams...
